Thank you for making the annual Merchant’s Association Oyster Roast a huge success! Attendees enjoyed local and select oysters, The Blue Plantation Band supplied the tunes, and the weather couldn’t have been nicer for January! We look forward to next year’s oyster roast!

Republican state Sen. Chip Campsen has scheduled a two-day “Town Hall Cruise” of coastal South Carolina next week aboard his 100-foot charter vessel, Spirit of the Lowcountry.
Campsen, R-Isle of Palms, will be joined by U.S. Rep. Tim Scott, R-S.C., as they conduct floating town hall meetings with stops at various marinas in Beaufort, Colleton andCharlestoncounties, a news release said.
The Cruise is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13 – 14. Citizens are welcome aboard for a town hall meeting at each marina, the release said. Both men are seeking re-election this year.
“The Town Hall Cruise is an opportunity for Campsen and Scott to cruise their new coastal legislative districts while greeting and listening to citizens along the way,” the release said.
Locally, the tour will be near Charleston on Wednesday, including from 11 am – 12:15 pm at Bohicket Marina on Johns Island; with a another town hall meeting at the Fort Sumter Tours Dock at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m.
